Stereo ripped out of dash, now no tailights, instrument panel or dash clock.
Hey guys,
I tried in the 5th gen forum with lots of ideas but no solutions. Someone thought it may be a stereo issue, so here goes.
Had my car broken into (02 GLE), headlights ripped out, window smashed and pioneer deck ripped out of the dash.
Got the car back from the dealer (insurance payed for it) and i didnt have any instrument panel lights, dash clock or tail lights, which of course i didnt figure out until the next day when i drove at night.
Now the dealership and somewhat my insurance are acting like im trying to pull a fast one on them...
Anywho... The radio is still ripped out.. Could a missing ground or the radio wires hanging there have any effect on the tail light/instrument panel fuse?
I dont see any blown fuses but im going to advanced auto for some help (im not real good with cars) and to see if they find any blown fuses. I checked the tail lamp fuse under the hood and it didnt "look" blown but thats the only check i know how to use 'visual'.
Could the radio being ripped out have anything to do with this...It sucks but i almost feel like i have to prove to the insurance/dealership that it is related.
Thanks all

I seem to recall a similar problem on my girlfriend's 93 max. I think there was an "Illumination" wire in the factory stereo wiring harness that was shorting, and this wire was on the same fuse as the dash and tail lights. It was causing this fuse to blow (resulting in no tails/dash lights).

Update, autzone was able to find two fuses blown that i couldnt tell by looking at them, They were the Tail lamp fuse and the radio fuse.
I now have tail lights, but still no instrament panel or dash clock, I also noticed that the power mirrors stopped working, I will check that fuse tonight but I know it worked after i picked the car up (i remember adjusting the mirrors)
Something is blowing fuses...
