It should be louder in that car if anything...you will like it.

Nismos-Kevin yanked it out and we just put some SS over it. We did it awhile ago and if I took a pic, all you would see is some SS on the side of the trunk.

With 100W, will it be fine in an IB configuration in the rear deck, or do I need to box it up?

with that little power you are better off using it free air in the rear deck.

you may just need a weaker sub.....if you're not going to power it to at least 75% of its power dont bother unless you plan on buying a new amp soon....these things depreciate too quickly...

This 8" sub looks intriguing. This may be a stupid question, but I do not have enough privileges to perform a search yet. Has anyone ever tried to do an IB installation with the rear deck in a 4th generation? I just bought a '99 SE and want to add some thump without having a box taking up space in my trunk. I know I'd have to cut a hole in the rear deck, but just wanted to see if anyone else had tried something similar succesfully.

Thanks.

not true...its only an 8" subwoofer. This sub will be fine with that power. however 100 watts is less than my germs get per side.

yes a few people have done this....some with 2 12's....if you're looking to do it it mainly requires a lot of dremel drill bits as they will break while cutting the the size of the hole. i heard someone broke about 10 while doing this. After that it just like everyone else....sound deaden the heack out of the rear deck and you're more than half way there...

oh no i agree, its fine....but why? there are subs out there 8" as well that are cheaper than the assasin...after shipping it'll be about 76....you could get a ID sub for less after shipping that will fit his amp power. Unless he plans on upgrading that like i said before....nonetheless i think its a cool lookin sub, with a lot of potential.... just got my SS in the mail and waiting till monday for the install...I CANT WAIT! ill be doing the trunk shock mod as well to keep the trunk nice and sealed.

the image Dynamics ID-8d2 handles around 175 watts RMS...when i was looking into this a year ago it was cheaper...dunno if you could find any places that sell it cheap anymore, i tried to search ebay, but only stores came up and the price was way more than expected....here is a link to another person that did an IB install....also the 4th gen guy with 2 12's in his rear deck is in here...http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=421103
ill look around and see if i could come up with links from my bookmarks, just not today sorry. hey the assasin is still a great price. i'd still say go for it instead of looking around for the ID sub.

Well, both are probably already sold.

But, I only had 80 watts a piece running to them, 100 watts is more than sufficient. The assassins should do wonderfully in the smaller cabin. Be sure to deaden as much as possible.

Maxima112 I only had 80 watts goin to each, so 75% is absolutely not necessary .

I'd like to buy one, including the mounting rings, if possible.

Please PM me, because I was about to start looking for one.

lol sorry. ok, everything is gettin power, no warning lights on the amp at all...checked the RCA's, checked the speaker wire from amp to the sub....it is the correct polarity...the only thing is that for the negative terminal i used a slightly larger female connector so it doesn't stay well, but i've held it there to see if i could hear anything, and nothing. I mounted it from the bottom up in the rear deck. how likely is it that it's just broken??

Not very, connect it somewhere else or to another amp, see what happens. Where is the gain set? Make sure your rca's are connect properly etc. etc. Check and double check everything.
