a little help... can't find anything on the past 7 pages...

ok... my 2000 GLE with bose need some new speakers...
deck is already replace with a Pioneer in dash LCD, bose sub is already taken out, got a 12 inch alpine sub and an alpine amp running with it for two years already...
now it's time for new speakers... the questions is i've heard the bose speakers are running 2 ohm is it true? and i've been told that the Bose options on our 5 gen are only Clarions 4 ohm, not bose... is it true?

coz i m not going to amp my speakers, no $$><
just wondering is it direct plug and play for the our new speakers? like just take out the oem speaker and cut the wire and connect it to the new one? coz if it's 2 ohm then i think i am stucked...

If you have bose, they are running at 2 ohms period.

Get some highly efficient speakers and you may be able to get away without amping them but the recommendation is to get a nice set of components up front and wire them to a decent powered 2 channel and complete your system.

dont you have an aftermarket deck? run the speakers straight off the HU, it'llbe at 4 ohm.

Wait what in the hell are you trying to do? You need to really write legibly.

1) you said you wanted to add speakers and said you alraedy replaced the bose HU

2) NOW you say that you want to add OEM bose with aftermarket speakers? WTF?

nonono... sorry for the misunderstanding
k two years ago i replace my bose HU with a Pioneer indash dvd, and i put a 12 inch sub in my trunk, but i am still running OEM speakers...(i had bose option, so i think the speaker is running at 2 ohm, correct me if i am wrong)

Now i am decided to replace my speakers, now sure what i should do with the 2ohm thing...

Don't worry about looking for 2 ohm speakers, replace the bose speakers with 4 ohm units and run speaker wire from the outputs of the pioneer headunit to them.
