Only thing I think the stock alarm needs is a perimeter sensor....

A basic keyless entry system is pretty easy. Assuming you can figure out how to run wires into the driver door for lock and unlock, its not bad. An alarm system, or remote start, or most other extras, Id recommend leaving it to a professional.

In general, an alarm is a fair bit more complex to install than stereo equipment. Remote start and window modules can be especially difficult. I highly recommend using a certified shop because you can f*ck up alot without realizing it.

you need to spend some time studying and ask questions. it's not so bad. it will take 2 to 3 days on your 1st intall. this includes removing your existing alarm and installing a new one with a remote starter.

Took me a few days to put in an alarm remote start, just make sure you have multimeter and test everything. Overall not too hard. I would normally pay to get it installed but last two alarm sytems I have had installed at pro shops were hack jobs. Hell I did a better job than them...

I just did one on my womans max. It was the first import that i ever installed on. Ive always done them on my GM's but regardless, with the systems out now and days, you should have some kind of knowledge with electronics and basic theorys of relays and diodes. The Max wasnt bad at all. I think i spent most of the time looming up the wiring and creating an appearance that looked stock so it would be harder to identify. Should you decide to attempt it, i strongly recommend you get some help from someone who has done this before and ask questions if you unsure about anything.

sure, but why bother? you'll get terrible range compared to aftermarket units.
