Since this forum is dead... here's my latest project :)

Following the design I got from Elemental Designs, I built a ported box for 2 Ehqs 12's.
They are S2, wired in series with a 4 ohm load. They are powered by a bash 300 [300w @ 4ohm]

The Design:

Cut Sheet:

You know.. it looks smaller on paper than when you actually start building it....

The amp.. I built a seperate box for it so I could keep it on my desk. I am going to control the volume from there...

A side is open for ventilation purposes

The amp and subs are linked together with speaker cable going between the two speaker cups.

Now.. for impressions...

I have yet to break these beasts in...

I live in a private house.. my room is in the 2nd floor.

The whole floor started to shake.. the box started to move by itself

Sitting on a rolling chair, I was actually rolling.. it took me a few seconds to realize why lol

Blueberry Yum Yum [byy] was my favorite song to throw at them... they go absolutely crazy. There is so much air coming out of that huge port that you could hurt an animal lol.

This thing is coming with me to college [its my dorm subwoofer lol]
so tonight me and my friend are taking it there.
We are taking a train [one train and then a transfer to another]
so it should be fun carrying this huge *** box through the trains and then walking like 10-15 min to my dorm in philly.

The box itself was done in about 4 hrs total [2 hrs * 2 days]

I am quite impressed.. with amp, subs, wood, screws and caulk.. cost was about $220

Here is a shot of my room [home not college]
so you can tell how freaking big it is

yeah.. thats 6 speakers [2mtm, 1ht_sub, 2 studio monitors, 1 eqhs sub box]

The eqhs 12s are now fully broken in.. .and all i can say is WOW!

I can make my whole dorm room shake.. to the point where glass bottles are clanking and lights are shaking.

I have had noise complaints from upstairs AND downstairs
[which is through a good 5 feet of cement lol]

Thanks for the links, sorry I missed that in your earlier post. The amp in my BIC Venturi 1215 sub crapped out, just looking for a good replacement.

Wow, I thought I was the only person with BIC venturi's. I just have a pair of bookshelf 6.5's though. They do sound very natural.

I love this sub, but have been without it for over a year. Not a major priority.

Sorry to hijack.

I got an update email from PartsXpress today letting me know that they just now got the Bash 300 back in stock (out since before Xmas). While it was out of stock the sale price was $105, now that it's back in stock, the price is back up to $150. Sent them an email and they're going to honor the sale price.
