Jl 10w3v2
Jl 10w3v2
Aight so my friend and I got a system put into a G35 Coupe and we're starting to run problems with it... seeing if anybody here could give us some information on why it's doing what it is doing.
So we are running 2 10" JL W3V2 on 500/1 JL amp.
Problem: The sub just turned off. We took it to the car audio shop we got it from and said we blew BOTH the subs. Got them replaced. Two-Three hours later... same thing.
I did a light test. Amp is PERFECT no problems there as in power. But the subs... NOTHING.... I'm just starting to get frustrated with this system I'm helping out for a friend. Please help.
My assumption is that I think the box is too small for the w3's and causing them to overheat. Is it possible depending on airspace that the subs could blow?

just a thought you might wanna check the ohm you have the speakers sitting at. jl amps can do 1 ohm - 4ohm stable... but if you have the subs wired below 1ohm that will cause them to fry... i had 2 kicker L7 wired to my amp at a 1ohm load, big mistake, and they fried within 2-3 hours of puttin in the car. the problem was i needed dual 2ohm subs, & i had dual 4ohm. just my .02, someelse may have a better answer for you... good luck..

Well, I'm off to the car audio shop so we'll see what went wrong. Hopefully the subs are breathing fine... But as far as I know these W3V2's are blown. Well I'll post back with what happened. Thanks for the info guys.
