Problem with my ARC amp
Hey guys,
I recently noticed that a lot more sound seemed to be coming from the driver's side speakers. I didn't think too much of it for a while, but then I decided to take a look. Turns out my passenger midbass wasn't working. I could hear a hiss in the speaker but that's it. I took the speaker out and checked it on my home system and it works fine. I also tried hooking up another speaker to the rear/right output and it did not work. I was hoping it would be the HU rather than the amp because my HU is still under warranty. I switched the left and right rear outputs and found that the right HU output works fine because I got sound from my left speaker when I hooked it up, but I still got no sound from my right speaker. I obviously checked all the outputs on the amp and they are secure and look fine. The wiring didn't get touched anywhere, so I know that's not the problem. (though if I weren't so lazy I might try switchting outputs just to be safe).
So now my question is how much will ARC charge for repair? And I guess I should open it up and check for any obvious problems, but I don't know what could've happened to the thing. Also, I hate being without a system when I'm driving...

EDIT: Also, I took it out of the car today and took the back off. I didn't see anything obvious, but I'm no electrical engineer. I put it back together and it seems to be working for now. Not sure why it's working again, but I'll see how long it lasts.
What is the actual warranty?

Well, the hiss wasn't really the problem this time, I've always had that. But now the right midbass is working again. I guess maybe when I took apart the amp and touched some stuff inside I might have moved a bad solder joint. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that...when I was driving yesterday the speaker was coming on for short periods of time when I hit bumps or went around a sharp corner, so I know there's a loose connection in the amp somewhere. I guess for right now though it's okay.
