Alternator question 5th Gen

I am Running a JL 500/1 which is powering a 12w7 and a JL 300/4 powering 2 sets of components i was wondering if anyone with a 5th gen Maximas had any problems with there altanator. My battery went dead so i purchased a Optima Yellow top battery and when i installed it the car wouldnt start. I had to jump the car, which then it worked for a week and then that battery died. I brought the battery back and replaced it with a new one w/the warrenty and havent had a problem. I was curious whether they sold me a used battery or if my alternator just cannot put enough power back into it. Any input would be appreciated. Also i was wondering how useful capacitors are.

Your alternator should be fine with those amps. There are plenty of people running WAY more without problems. Although do upgrade the factory wiring in your engine bay.

Capacitors are useless.
