Amplifier Suggestions Please

As you may have heard, I'm upgrading to a 6 1/2 Infinity Reference component set in the doors with a set of pioneer 6 1/2s in the rear deck. All running off of a clarion deck. I've been shopping for a 4 channel amp that will push the components nicely. The components are rated at 90W/channel max RMS. Of course I'd like to stay between 75-125W per channel considering that. The Alpine 450 doesnt look too bad. I was considering a soundstream tarantula and rockford punch series also. Soundstream used to be the ish, but I heard they suck now? I wouldnt consider any lower end brands such as california/profile or things like that. Just something in my power range that will pump some clean power. Always loved rockford because their amps are reliable and underrated. Price range is $150-$250. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

you have MANY choices in that price range. my .2 is, if you can find a mtx 1004. thats what i have pushin my infinity components, 100x4 at 4ohm, and those tweets sound great with that power. other audio heads will chime in but i like my mtx. good luck in whatever you decide.

sorry if i seem to be jacking the thread here but I am in almost exactly the same position and i'm guessing the answer to my broblem will help you out too, Cosmo. I am looking for a 4ch in the same power range, and for me anyway it has come down to 2 different amps here-- the Eclipse EA4000 or the Clarion APX4360.

Now before you all jump on the eclipse, check them both out.

Clarion:
http://www.cardomain.com/item/CLAAPX4360

Eclipse is linked directly above.

Both are the same price, but although eclipse may seem better as a quality brand, i know clarion is at least decent too. The other factor is power, where the clarion owns the eclipse with 90x4 and 300x2 bridged, while the eclipse runs 75x4 and 150 bridged-- The bridged power is important to me because i plan to bridge the back to a sub. also, the eclipse isnt even stable at 2 ohms..? the clarion seems not only more powerful but much more flexible as well, which is important for a first amp in this setup to keep it useable and adaptable for the future.. any thoughts here? does eclipse sq and control beat out the clarions other features? thanks for the input..

Thanks guys! That Directed audio amp looks like a really good deal. I haven't heard much of them though. Do you think this would be a good choice and deliver as much "quality sound" as an eclipse or alpine amp?

The only thing I noticed is the DE amp doesnt seem to have an engine noise/interference (topaz type) suppresor built in. That is important to me. Or can you get an external one cheap?

Yeah, I want excellent sound quality. That's what I really need to know, which brands will offer the best sound quality.

I had a Soundstream Rubicon 5channel......it sounded great running the entire system. So the Tarantula wouldn't be bad. Of the amps listed above. I would probably choose the Eclipse. I do have an MTX 5302 for my subs though.

I had an MTX Thunder564, good solid amp. I never had any issues with it.

Ya the MTX is a great amp, With the ISMT and Pure N channel you pretty much can not go wrong for that price.

You can pick up a Kicker ZX650.4 for about 150 on ebay or a KX350.4 for under 100.
