How much can the aa 8" handle IB

Ive been considering a lot of different setups, many of them including the ascendat audio assassin 8" in my rear deck. I know this sub has a rms rating of 350, but plenty of people have said it was sufficient to give it 150. Others who have talked to the company say it can take more than the rms if done right, but that wouls be in a sealed box, i'm assuming. Anyway, i'm thinking i'll have between 250-300 to throw at my sub(s) when its all said and done, and i know that can be handled by the 8 with gain adjustment but i figured if it couldnt handle a large percentage of those watts IB i would prefer looking for another sub to maximize my amps power. so my question is how much do you think his little guy can safely handle IB, and what are other good subs and in different setups. I am not apposed to boxing a sub in the trunk, maybe a 10 or something, but for 50 bucks the 8" IB is a cheaper option, also getting more volume per watt in that setup, but i'm interested to see whats out there. Oh, and I listen to pretty much all kinds of music if that makes a difference..
thanks for the suggestions

you wil be fine. Theoretically you could put a 1,500 watt amp on it if you adjust the gains accordingly. Chad is coming out with new assassins so hold off for a bit until they do, but they might cost a bit more.

The AA IB will rock with that amount of power. Had I had more power to throw at mine they may very well still be in the rear deck.

any idea on when the new ones will come out? I dont mind spending a little more money, especially knowing that going IB i dont need to buy a box or worry about making one. but what do you gus think about their ability to hit the lows? thats my only concern- i'm no hardcore bass fanatic but i do appreciate the deep and powerful tones and i wasn't sure what to expect from an 8" sub..

if anything you are optimized to get real low end extension by going free air...but it is still an 8" cone, so dont expect alot of SPL from the sub 40hz bass.
