installing directed alarm/remotestart on 5 spd?
Well recently one of my friends asked me to do a remote start alarm, i told him the consequences if he leaves his car in gear and remote starts his car. But isnt there a neutral safety wire that nissan has So it will check to see if its in neutral before it starts ? If so depending on if its a negative or positive trigger how would i hook it up through the directed alarm. Would i be using one of the wires from the neutral safety toggle switch ?

Yes there is. Wire black/white from the brain directly to the neutral safety wire. On 5th gens its pin 44 at the ecu which i think is green/white. Itll read nothing when the car is in gear, and ground when the car is in neutral.

i never wire in the switch, just wire black/white directly to the NSS wire at the ecu. But if you really want to you can wire it in...one end of it would go to black/white off the brain...the other end to the cars NSS wire.

Its not the exact 'corner' but towards that way. Now your making me think...is there a White/Green? Im 99.99% sure its Green/White, but what the hell...
Are you using a standard test light? Or a computer safe?

its just a standard test light. the white and green is the tach and that is located more towards the top left corner. Iwill take a picture for you to identify if its the correct wire/position

Then it wont do anything...standard test light reads only 12V. Connect it to 12V then try again. Your reading a ground when in neutral and flat/nothing when in gear. Since its not computer safe, please use caution as Im not held responsible for mistakes.
No DMM available?

Neither of those two white ones have green on em? The pair right below your thumb.
Noooo that is definately not computer safe...Your doors are locking because your sending them a ground. You can clip onto 12V, but Im afraid for you possibly probing the wrong wire.

hey don, it was that green and white wire. Its pin number 22 Its in the middle 3rd one over. I looked at the digrams in the fsm to confirm this. However i think i have a bad connection at the neutral safety wire, because it was starting fine earlier and now sometimes it wont start(as if the wire wasnt hooked up at all) , as well as if it does remote start when i checked the diagnostics it said neutral safety wire shutdown so im guessing its a bad connection.

Check then recheck, then finally triple check.
