i was with dcman and it is the correct wire. im mad because im up at school this week and he cant check it until this weekend. maybe the joint is bad down on the green and white wire. and it says that the hood is open when i lock it. i think is the reason it wont start.
but whats messed up is that last night the car would start for .5 seconds. it wouldnt fully turn over.
whats going on DON??????????

no, its the same car my friend is just being dumb, lets just put his stupidty to the side for now don lol. I think it may actually be the hoodpin causing the problem some how, however the remote start was working through the nss wire untill we hooked up the hoodpin. But why would the diagnostics say the NSS wire is at fault and not the hoodpin?

okay i unplugged the hood pin connector in the engine bay then reconnected it. i doesnt say the hood is open at all anymore. so that problem seems like it's gone. but now when i start the car with the remote it turns on for half a second and shuts off like it doesn't turn over fully.
this is soooo weird

ignition turns on and off real quick it cranks and it will start but right after it starts it shuts off.
okay i guess the hood pin isnt good because if i drive the car then lock it to go into a store it says the hood is open. WTF is going on????
ill let Rob mess with the wires under the dash board. i think the brake wire is a biiyotch to get at

will check all the things that could cause a shutdown, however the diagnostics say that its the neutral safety wire. The nss is hooked up black and white from brain directly to NSS. It was working i tried it for like 3-4 times it worked great then i continued to hook up the siren, and the hoodpin and then it stopped working.

Also the brake wire is Super easy, especially if it was grabbed at the kick area.

the hood pin is disconnected and the remote still says the hood is open when i lock the doors. how do you wire up the hood pin because this is my second viper alarm (second car) with a malfunctioning hood pin. we have it hooked by one wire going to the yellow wire on the hood pin. is that right? Don how do you wire up the hood pin?

Ok first you need to relaxe, posting every couple minutes will get you absolutely nowhere.
Personally I dont like nor use hodpins due to their high failure rate. But if you insist...its Yellow/Black at the BCM or go directly to the pin itself. Small grey wire off the unit, but these things you should know already since you said you had it hooked up.

thats exactly what i did, don i took the gray wire and ran it out to the hood and connected it right to the hood pin with the color you said. So maybe he has a bad hoodpin ? I told him to let me install the one that came with the viper.Oh and apparenty don the 5900 ssts. Dont default double pulse on. Didnt the 791xv have double pulse on unlock as default ?

Dunno why it would be a problem then unless A: Its grounded out somewhere B: The hoodpin itself is faulty.
No sir, none come with double pulse default.
Possibly a faulty unit? Where did it come from?

im not sure where he got it from. I dont ask questions i just install. Lol however it did have a bad lock and unlock harness which sucked. Took a bit of time to figure that out. But otherthan that everything worked out ok. Ill try swapping hoodpins see whats going on.

Hood pin works by ground. If its saying its open, then its either grounded somewhere or its a faulty unit.
Unfortunately if its the unit, youll need a lot of luck getting a replacement from them.

well what about if some one opens the hood of the car the alarm wont go off, allthough the factory alarm will still trigger atleast it should. So i figured it out why it doesnt start sometimes. There is a delay for some reason you ahve to wait about 15-20 seconds before the remote start will be activated the computer, must not check the Neutral safety wire untill all of the elctronics become idle(ie not running). Maybe this should be stickied in remote start forum so no one has to ask again .

The shcok sensor will surely set it off. Ever try to open a hood without entry to the vehicle? Its not easy and surely takes some effort and impact.
Thats Very odd, all the cars Ive done never had any 'delay'.

me either don, ive never encountered this delay, but maybe its because its the new 5900 sst model maybe the remote start sequence is a little different? I'm not really sure but im just glad it works.

btw it turns out the guy i did it for had a bad hoodpin... causing it to not start at certain times. While this thread is up, don the NSS wire for a 2003 6 spd maxima is still green/white correct ? I found a green/white wire (The only green/white wire) in that whole harness, it is located on the left side of the ecu plug
