help with ohms, mounting, firewall

i am not new to audio installation but this is my first time working with a factory amplified BOSE system. I've looked through the FAQ and search a while back but i'll go through it again. i just need a little information but please dont guess...

1996 Infiniti I30:
1. BOSE utilizes a 1-ohm system. Are tweeters on the A-pillars 1-ohm also?

2. If tweeters are 1-ohm, is it okay to use in conjunction with aftermarket speakers and HU which run normally at 4-ohms? I already installed the deck with antenna adapter and SCOCHE bypass harness.

3. If above is not compatible, are there any 4-ohm replacements that fit in that location? does the triangle sail panel on the door yield enough room behind for angled tweeter pods? pics of custom pods?

4. What is the depth of the 6.5" speaker basket on the front doors? Im concerned about the mounting depth of speakers before i buy.

5. For amp powering, where did you route through the firewall?

Im sure I'll have more Q's as I go but any help or information is appreciated. Space is limited so I'd like to gather information before I jump into hands-on. Thanks in advance!

1. Tweeters run in parallel to the 1ohm Bose speakers.
2. If you replace your speakers, get a component set. If you only want coaxials, they have the highs built in so you need not use the factory tweets.
3. Answered in #2. Triangle sail panel is a good place for surface mount tweeter pods. You cannot flush mount tweeters unless you build the sail panels outwards.
4. Make a 3/4" thick MDF ring to mount your speakers. This will ensure your aftermarket basket does not hit the window when rolled down.
5. If you're auto there should be a blank panel you can drill through. You'll see it to the left of the steering column.

Hope that helps. Sorry it's blunt. Feel free to ask additional questions.

another way to route the power cable is to look under the driverside fender liner. Take off your left front wheel and take out all the clips. you'll see a wire loom there going into the interior.

Actually on your I30 there should be a hole right in the center of the firewall, nothing goes through it and you can drop a power wire right through there.
