Thoughts on current RE...

For you bassheads...just wanting to play with something different and choices are narrowed down to the MX or the SE.

Discuss....

Unfortunately I havent heard either of those 2 models...but IIRC the SE hasn't changed much, whereas the MX is totally new. the MX's "look" cool, but when they are in that birch box that doesn't matter. I say if you have the juice get the MX's...a 4" coil will be able to handle those new amps with ease.

Are you looking for sq or a decent sound that has the potential to get loud? MX is more sq oriented. SE is more of the latter. I would choose niether, but you know that. If you like the sound of the TDX's, you will like the MX.

SQ of course, but with the potential to get quite loud for the local basshead customers.

US Amps/RE is one of my rep lines. So for the sake of marketing alone I figured Id give em a shot. Aside from that, the price is Very nice.

Lol... why? A one sub setup can get damn loud. What wiring config. issue are you running into with having the Mille's?

Anyways, I don't know enough about the RE's to comment but seems like with the front setup that you do have you may as well go with something that's got massive spl capabilities.

Excellent SQ and SPL: RE XXX

But...your birch box probably doesn't have the internal air space for it.

I don't think Don wants 144lbs of subs in the trunk either.

the new XXX's are freakishly large, but damn do they get loud. i think the SE's are ideal for ya Don. they get fairly loud, and decently good while at it.

I would say go with the MXs. Personally, I haven't heard one, but they're supposed to compare to the last gen XXXs. I have a '05 12" XXX, and absolutely love it. I used change my substage a lot, but have been running the XXX for over a year. I would defiantly put it in a low-tuned ported enclosure. For us "regular" consumers...and Don you know you don't fall in that category...RE is way over-priced since the buyout.

BTW...how much are the MX 12's going for? Try one out, and if you don't like it sell it.
