I have a 1985 SE, just bought it as new daily transportation. Car is in great shape, runs well, one problem. Original stereo still works but is seriously inadequate for anything but talk radio.

I pretty much have a plan for a new system, but everywhere I look no one has an installation kit listed for this car. The opening is noticably bigger than your run of the mill aftermarked DIN unit, so I'm skeptical that it'll just fit. That said I haven't taken anything apart yet.

So, anyone have any info about a kit, whether I need one? Also, the Graphical EQ underneath it will be removed too, any pocket or cubby that can go there, I'll probably have to fab up something. Did any models come with a compartment rather than the EQ? Maybe I could get one at a junkyard or something.

Also any general tips about running wires or where a good ground is in the back for the amp?
