Suggestions for new 10s

Well, I've had a pair of Audiobahn Alum10s in this car and my last car for a total of 7 years now and they've been great, but I'm looking for a little change. I'm running a Soundstream 1002 bridged to 1000w (RMS 4 or 2 ohm operation) and I'm looking for alternatives. The Eclipse alum subs are nice, but I'm thinking of something non-aluminum. I don't think it really hits 1000w, but I'll need something that can handle 400+w per sub or so. Also, the subs are in a sealed box that's partially mdf and partially fiberglass, close to 1.7ft^3 total space inside (in my spare well). Thanks in advance

Checked out prices on Alpine Type R, Boston G5s, just don't have anyplace nearby to audition.

That is a serious woofer no doubt, but I'm looking for something non-metallic this go around. Maybe more round, musical sound rather than high spl.

While the Tis are nice, theyre also quite outdated. I think he's looking for something new and a non metal cone.

Being a Maxima noob I cant post my own thread yet, and, also being an ICE noob looking for 10" subs, this is a great thread for me to hijack (sorry.) I'm looking for a 10" that will work in the smallest enclosure possible. The models listed above are just names to me. What prices do these run at? What if I only care about sound rather than volume? About how much should I be looking to spend at a minimum?
I'm thinking of buying a set of Infinity 6010CS to go with the sub.

no infinity speakers...I'd get rainbow SLC's and perhaps a rainbow sub from pearl96max. they have been rated as great sound quality drivers.

Whats the issue with the infinitys? I've never heard of Rainbows before.
I got to sample some Polk components that sounded nice. Are the rainbows better? Whats the cost?

IMO it goes Rainbow>Polk>Infinity. The SLC's are usually around 230 shipped and worth every penny. Rainbows are made in Germany and brought to us via "the Don", pearl96max who is a rep/dealer for them.

Yea and why buy something that eventually you'll end up upgrading? I mean I doubt you'll keep those polks unless you never get to hear a set of rainbows.....

I'd really like to get some Boston G5s, but I've never heard them and no one in town has them, sad really.

I was impressed with the G2's, the G5's gotta be even better. Heard them in comparo with RF P3's and Kenwoods, all 12". Same box size/design and same amp powering them. G2's sounded the best.
