Can my 3rd gen handle it?

I have a 1993 Maxima. I'm getting an infinty basslink (200 watt class d) and a Rockford Fosgate 400.4 4 channel Punch amp (50x4 rms). Can I use these componenets on my stock car? Crutchfield said my alternator or something can't handle it. I'm 17 and I know little about cars, somebody fill me in on if my car can handle it and if it can't what can I do about it? Thanks

The battery only supplies power when the car is not running. So this is a mistake in logic. However, the larger battery will allow your electrical system to "breathe" because they won't bog the alternator as much as a smaller one. Downside, is that if you run your system (or lights for that matter) for a while (long time) with the engine off, the bigger battery will hurt in this situation.
After you complete the installation, start the car, turn on the headlights, and the A/C. Run the stereo fairly loud (or a bit louder than you would actually play it under normal circumstances), if the headlights dim, you need an electrical upgrade. The cap and bigger battery are good steps, but if you get dimming, you should look into either getting a new alternator, or getting it rewound.
Anyone agree? Disagree?
