tv in the trunk...is bass a problem?

i'm thinking of putting a small tv monitor on the trunk lid that will be on only when the trunk is open (same as my neon lights), so while working it'll be away from the bass. however, while i'm driving around with the trunk closed and the bass hitting, is that going to mess up the tv? i've seen some trunk tvs done and most of the time it's with custom fiberglass enclosures and i dont know if they put something to protect it or if it just doesnt matter...

please let me know before i spend my time and money doing this just to break it with the first thump of the bass

thanks!

To be on the safe side, I would shield it with fiber-glass or something of that nature to ensure that you're time and money don't get wasted. Anything aftermarket can be a PITA if they dont work or break so you might as well take the cautious route the first time around so you can enjoy it for the life of it. Question: What type of subs do you have and how big are they? (just to gauge how much bass/air is passing through the trunk.

it's a small 10" sub so it's not a lot of bass, but the way i have it installed it kinda hits a lot in the trunk (probably more than it should be i think) and i just dont want to mess it up. i'll look into putting something to cover it with. thanks!

i think you'll be fine. unless you're producing high SPL, your monitor should be ok.

Or you could just go buckwild and be proud that your sub destroyed your monitor... MAD DEEBEEz YooO
