Understanding Headlight Language

I am trying to understand halogen nomeclatures but I cant find a webpage that explains what the deal is.

For instance, H3 is the size of the bulb? Or the type? Are all H3s the same size and fit? Like I had the impression 5th Gens used H3 bulbs, but when I go to sylvania product finder, it lists 9003 Halogen bulbs.

Anyone knows a webpage that explains that?

Thanks in advance

The id or number (h3, 9003) is the shape/size and wattage rating of the bulb that goes in. If you go to sylvania's website and go to automotive and then replacement guide you will see all types of bulbs that go in your car and where. There are two different h3 bulbs 55w and 100w I believe and you should get 55w.

H3 --> fogs
9003 --> headlights
