Fuse ON the amp or where? Please describe your system in detail.

ok sorry guys

i have a power acoustik 500 w amp with a 400 w pioneer sub in a bandpass

the problem is my fuse on the amp is dieing i have changed it 4 times already

i have checked all the wiring
and such it is properly grounded so its not that .
One cause of this might be because of my bose headunit
it is becom,in very scratchy and sometimes it doesnt eject the cd and i continuosly have problems with the backlight.
what sould i do?
I am right now USING A 30A fuse the one that came standard with the amp

Re: ok sorry guys

Somewhere you are getting excessive voltage. How do you have you power from your battery being distributed? For instance do you have your amp running straight from your battery or do you have a fuse between battery and firewall in your engine compartment?

How long have you been experiencing these problems?

sorry guys ive been away for a while

i have the wire from the battery going thru a switch and then straight to the amp.
the fuse on the amp is blowing constantly
i have been experienceing this for the past week.
my bose deck is also dieing
can that be the cause as it is sending improper signals or something.

You should have your amp professionally installed. Bose decks/amps are sometimes tricky to work with. What size power wire are you using?

first of all, you should feel very lucky that your amp isn't frying.....

I fried my $500 D2 doing that you did!!

But you definatly have to fuse your power wire!!!

well

you may pull the switch off the power wire to start with and if you need a switch put it on the remote wire....plus the bose unit puts out a wierd ohm load off the speaker amps...when that ohm load goes into the imputs of the amp it may cause the amp to clip which give you excessive power pull and could be blowint the fuse....just wondering did you use the high level imputs on the amp and wire it jumped off one of the rear speaker terminals...cause if so there is your problem if thats it jump the wires off the factory wire harness befor the speaker amp....if nothing else dump the chrappy bose and buy a KENWOOD...cheap efficiant and they look great in a max! just my $.02 for yah
