Looking at getting to rockford fosgate HX2 12" subs. They are 150-500 watts rms/1000 peak a piece. For an amp this one guy suggested the BD6000 I think from fosgate which was $600, but another said I could get away with MTX 302 or similar which is about $350. Would the 302 sound good with those subs? Would it still hit hard/sound good/be deep? Any other amp reccomendationsd for about $350? If I need a $600 amp I guess I'll be looking at cheaper subs!

Look at the JBL BP1200.1 Amp. One of the best amps out right now for power and money. I just got mine in the mail from a ebay auction, bran new, and its sweet! Can't wait to put it in. Alot of people who do competitions recommened it, 1200w, but actually produces 1400. I will be hooking it up to 2 Infinity Perfect subs.

Are you married to the subs? I'm not a RF fan myself, they are ok but you can do better... For a budget system with good sound and output, I say a pair of Image Dynamics IDQ 10's. They are deep and clean, but aren't the loudest things around. But if you're going for volume over sound, just ignore me cuz I don't swing that way As for amps, used is a good bet. Electronics can last a long time if not abused. Just keep in mind that on eBay or many mail order audio sites, you're not going to get a warranty a lot of the time (even on new items). US Acoustics makes good amps for the money. If you want to go used and get a little better amp for the money, I'd look at the older soundstreams or PPI. Good reliable stuff. Don't go buying the most powerful one you can get either. Do you have stock front speakers? Audio is all about balance, if you just throw a bunch of power on the rears you're going to have bass and nothing but bass. If that's what you want though, go for it. For the IDQ's, about 400 watts RMS would do great for the pair, maybe a big more if you could swing it. I love those subs, they sound better than many more expensive subs, they just aren't as popular because most people want loud instead of good

Course if you wanna go really loud for cheap, lemme know and we can discuss that route too

system

I don't really mess wit the stuff I havent heard of... MOst of the time I am a brand name kinda guy. I listened to fosgates and MTX 8000 and I liked RM's better...Very deep and yes, i love the loud. Crutchfield has half off on a couple Infinity and Fosgate amps I might look into. I am getting all new speakers and face also, so it'll be good all aorund but subs are most important, more options!

You haven't heard of Image Dynamics? They aren't that big of a company, but they make some real quality stuff. I like their interior speakers, but they pretty much only make horns and not tweeters, so they aren't as convienent. Their subs are good quality though and for a audiophile type system, they are some of the better subs you will find, I also like the Diamond Subs for a not so hard hitting sub also, but they require a min. of 200W RMS for a 12".They also require a pretty big box.

Image Dynamics does make mids and tweeters, in separate and coaxial form.

ID makes only the Chamelians right? I hear they are really good speakers, but they are primarily known for their horns is the point I was getting at.
