alarm help quick!

I never post here so this might be a repeat question just phrased differently than someone else. I also used the free search before I made my own thread. Im in the process of installing a Crime guard 533i^4 in my 97' and I cant get this thing to work. I bought the harness for the ignition switch so I know that isnt my problem. I grounded it to the bolt that holds the seat in so the ground should be good enough. The diagram from Crimeguard says that I need a wire the "(-) Door pin switch" and "(+) door pin switch". I used the G/Y wire for the negetive and the LG/R wire for the positive. Now without wiring anything else (parking lights, siren, trunk, etc.) it should work correct?

I need help ASAP.

thanks guys

What did you connect the + door trigger to? There are no + triggers for doors in the Maxima. Yes it *should* work, but I think your misleading yourself by thinking that there could be nothing wrong with the 'ign harness that you bought'. Have yo inspected and confirmed all the wires on it? Checked that they are correctly located?

The positive door trigger is connected to the lightgreen/red wire like it states in my first post. I double checked all the wires going to the ignition harness and they are all fine. The only other wires I have are the two going into the door lock and unlock switch, the ground and the trunk open switch. Do I have to disarm the factory alarm before it will work or something?

ok well since you know its on the wrong wire, can you tell me the correct wire? I know that you are saying there are no + door triggers, but when the crime guard wiring diagram says to connect a wire to the positive door trigger, what am I supposed to connect it to?

Red/White in the kick panel. Also where you can find Brake/Parking lights and trunk.

Connect it to a postive trigger in a car that has one. Alarms are universal, not all cars are the same.

ok so I just took the electrical tape off the thick group of about 30+ wires under the kick panel, now i should wire the negetive door tigger to the red/white stripe, trunk to the pur/yellow, and what color is the parking lights?

Yes.

Yes. Make sure you use a relay.

Parking lights are Red/Blue IIRC. Brake is Red/Green.

TEST ALL WIRES FIRST

do you not have diagrams?

you really should just be taking it to a shop if you're asking these questions. You're gonna blow something..

and parking light positive is actually red/green as well at the steering column.

I agree.

Red/green at the kick though. WHy go to the column if ya have wires already going to the kick? Saves me a bit of work everytime.

I like grouping and twisting wires, much easier to do without the ribbon cable.
