Sub drawing power while car is off

The other day I tried to start my car in the morning and and it was dead. I just found out that after I shut the car off, the sub starts drawing power and humming.

A few weeks ago I had a new Pioneer HU installed. I'm guessing it has to do with that but I'm not sure. Also, a few months ago, to resolve a cutting out sub problem, I removed this piece that connects between the amp and the sub. After that, the only symptom was this thump in the sub during startup/shutdown but hadn't had any problems.

I'm not sure if it's related to that missing part and the new HU or just the new HU.

Any ideas?

Some thing is not wired right, check your remote wire which is usally blue, and check to see if the head unit power wires are set up right. Does your radio stay on when you turn the car off?

No, radio shuts down fine. The hum doesn't come until after the radio shuts down and those three beeps come from the HU.

When I had the stock HU, the sub stopped working. I read some threads and found some members removing this connector that bridged the gap between the sub and the amp. It's not on all Maximas but I believe it's there to stop that thumping sound on startup/shutdown. I had that removed for nearly three months with the stock HU. I have it at my apartment and can show you what it looks like. Whatever it is, it's broken.

Your amp is staying on you need to put a switch on your remote wire or wire it properly. Make sure its wired to the remote wire of the headunit.
