I need to see if anyone's got recommendations for good, high-end installers in the AL/GA area. I've found one in Huntsville that seems pretty good (got their own plastic vaccuum forming equipment, etc.), but I wanted to shop around and see if any of the folks in Atlanta had good recommendations for installers in Atlanta.

I really don't want some chain-ish installation, but someone that knows how to use an RTA, tune a car when they're done, etc. Someone who does good trunk work and can install this thing at a high-quality level.

Any thoughts or recommendations in the S.E. area?

HiFi Buys in ATL.

I've seen sweet work done by them. Quite a few of their installs on http://www.streetdreams.com. A place here in Macon does good work too, but I like the quality of HIFI Buys better.

Re: HiFi Buys in ATL.

Yeah, I've heard that, but I just think "chain" when I think of HiFi Buys. I dunno, I just think of the goofuses that I've dealt with at Circuit City before, and I know I wouldn't want ANY of them touching my car!

Re: So Jambo, What kinda gear are you installing?

MB Quart Q-series 6.5" components up front
MB Quart mids in the rear
Clarion 9575z head and the 7500z EQ/DSP
PPI PC2150 2x150 for the components
PPI PC2100 1x400 (bridged and gained down) for the....
JL Audio Stealthbox
PPI FRX-456 X-over
Phoenix Gold EQ232 30-band eq.

Boxes are taking up WAY too much room in the rec. room and Blair is getting ansy for me to get it all put in!

Interesting...

I have been toying with the idea of using the same amp when I finally get the Stealthbox, so I can bridge my Tube Drivers to 150 each for the components. Wanting to mount it in the hinged trap door for the spare tire, keeping the other 2 amps on the back seat keeping all my trunk space. When you do get it all hooked up let me know. I'm dieing to hear a stealthbox in the Max.
BTW what custom installations are you looking to do? I ask , because your setup, sounds kinda similar to what I'm doing with mine. Only major custom work done was installing the Clarion x-over I have into the trunk lid, and building a new trunk floor.Hopefully I can get some time this weekend to build a couple enclosures in the doors sealed for the woofers to tighten things up a bit. If you need an extra pair of hands for any work your might do, let me know. I've done most of the work myself, and I'd like to finally meet some GA guys. Hated I had to miss the ATL Maxus....

JL's are much better than those Aluminum Foil's or whatever they are you've got.

I thought you were getting rid of your system too?

Jambo, I had the HiFi Buys in Roswell install my system. The system was installed by a Pro competitor who had his car featured in AS&S. That store has done other systems featured in CA&E and CSR, too. Really high-end stuff. The last time I was there, I asked for the guy, and they said that he had moved to Alabama. So you could either come to Atlanta or track down that guy near you. I could look-up his name and ask where he went to, if you want.

Sure, as soon as you come out and race with me... Competing in car audio is too much money and too much time and too many little details that have nothing to do with good sound all for a trophy that's handed out based on the opinion of some guy Not my thang baby, enjoying my stereo is all I need.

Hi-Fi Buys out past Gwinnett Place Mall

I have had good experiences with them installing stereo parts on my car while still doing a good quality installation. They can do as custom an install as you want you just have to have the money to fund it.
