Amplifier Power+Ground Wire (could be a stupid question)

I bought a Kicker 4 channel amp today (ZX650 or sumthin like that. I was looking at the connections on it and I don't see how a 0 gauge can fit the amp. Are there spades that cann connect it? or doo i need to get a smaller power and ground cable?

How many watts is it? And how far will you be running the power wire? That'll help with determining the wire size. Most likey, unless you're running 1000W+, 2 gauge or 4 gauge will be plenty. I'm running 4 gauge to the trunk for 358W RMS.

4gauge will be fine for that amp. If you have run 0gauge from the front, just add a distribution block that reduces to 4gauge.

i would run 0 gauge if you plan on adding a sub later on. If thats the case get a fused 0gauge distribution block, 0Gauge input, and 4 gauge output.

If you already ran the wire, get a distribution block and a short length of whatever small guage you need

^ Both good ideas! This way, if you add another amp later, your main power wire won't need to be replaced.

Just make sure to use a fuse anytime you go to a smaller wire size.

^ Good point... Fuse between the battery and the distro block and fuses on each wire from the distro block to the amps.

well, thats not the whole setup lol. I have another amplifier i'm adding. A JBL, which is supposedly rated at 1114 rms. that plus this amp is over 1500 watts rms. So...i figured either way i need a 0 gauge wire. But your saying put the amps from 4 or 2 gauge to a ditribution black to the 0? all this is to get my wireing kit...its the only thing I dont have

this kinda kit sound liek what yall tlakin bout

no, definatley run 0 gauge in for that much wattage. Once the 0gauge wire is in use a fused distrobution block to go to the amplifiers
