Hi all. I am upgrading speakers in my 97 Maxima. I have everything apart, and on the back of the OEM speaker there is a white electrical connector that plugs in to the other end of the connector on the vehicle, which powers the speaker. When I buy new speakers, they will not come with this connector from what I know... so how do I install them? Do i cut off the white connector that is in the vehicle and then use the wires to connect to positive and negative on the new speaker? any help would be much appreciated as this project is in shambles in my driveway. thanks a lot =)

You can buy wire adapters. Any place that does audio installations should have them. I bought mine from Best Buy (don't go inside the main store. go to the install shop in the back). Walmart might also have them. Circuit City etc.

One end plugs into the wiring in the car and the other end plugs into the aftermarket speaker.

I had this same problem except i was stupid enough to just cut the wires.... well i cut the wrong wires and now i have no sound. i tried splicing the wires back together with butt connectors and still no sound can anyone help me with this

 

Dont cut anything u can reuse these WHITE adapters for the new speakers easily, they simply slide off the speaker, u may need to pry them a bit with a flat head, then u solder these onto the new speakers and then simply plug the OEM harness in, thats what i did and it works beautifully and i can do the same thing in the future if i replace the speakers again, PM me if u need further details...

 

o ok COOL i was wondering about this myself, cause i have the SAME exact speakers in my car, but i have the BOSE HU.. does these speakers go with the HU? *panasonic*
