i'm having a little trouble with my car's electrical outlets. the one in the center compartment for the rear seats works fine but the one in the center console doesn't work at all.

i went to my friend's dad's auto shop and he said it has a current but that the housing or assembly is broken so i have to go buy a new one.

i didn't exactly catch what he was saying cause his english isnt too good but does anyone know the part # that i need to buy, approx. cost, and difficulty of installation? going to the dealership and getting it fixed is last resort for me.

i have the extended warranty on my car but would this be covered under that?

 

You can buy a new one at the Shack for $12.

 

did you check the fuses?

get a test light or multimeter and test the wires going to the socket itself to make sure that they're receiving power before you change the socket.
