Thats the whole thing, I changed a lot too, I should have gotten dyns the first time around. Would have saved a lot of money.

quick question for you guys (b/c I'm lazy and don't wanna search)...

I'm installing my Avic D3 2nite and was wondering where my speed sensor wire is, and I think I need the to hook up the reverse wire, too. Can I mount the GPS antenna inside the car somewhere?

GPS antenna can be slapped onto the metal behind the HU on either left or right side, the signal will be fine there.

Speed sense I'm not so sure about, pink/blue I think, behind the cluster. Revere wire is the + output at the reverse light. Not sure exactly the color combo.

"Dyns > 8.3i. No question in my mind that I made the right choice on getting the 360 over the dls."

Thanks, Parag. That makes me feel really good

I can just splice into the speed sensor wire and put a crimp cap on all the wires, right? The GPS antenna didn't come with any mounting hardware (bought it used)...so can i just mount it with velcro or wire ties?

Yea no problem. The GPS antenna is magnetized, it'll hold.

Yea you are, for a lil bit more than those grimey 8.3's you could have gotten the dyns.

I liked them too, but there was no comparison between them and the Dyns, and there's a reason Jeff switched from the IR's to the Dyns.

There are a lot of ignorant people in this world. Wait until you graduate and are earning a pharmacist's salary, then see who's laughing

Well not as exciting as DYNs, but I think I'm gonna pick up some X-Lines w/ the 8" midbass. I'll save the high $ setup for my Audi S4, which I'll be getting in about 4-6 months.

I can't remember if I told you guys about it, but my car got broken into. They got my DDX-7015, MD3D, '05 12" XXX, Yellow Top, and broke a lot of **** (from the vents to the shifter trim). So I'm doing a complete rebuild (got ins $ from shop..around $2800), but my Max just rolled 190k and its been a money pit lately, and I don't wanna spend too much on my new equipment. My new setup is decided on already and is gonna consist of the following:

Pioneer Avic D3, X-Lines w/ 8" Midbass, Kicker SX amps (either 400.2 or 500.2 for frontstage & 1250.1 for subs), I have the subs narrowed down (gonna buy both and decide when I demo them)...I have already purchased (2) '05 RE SE's that were BNIB , and I'm in the process of buying a 15" Adire Tumult . A box building buddy of mine from CA.Com (vitveet), is gonna build the enclosures from me...and buy whatever sub I'm not gonna use.

I am a fan of the SE's. It sucks you got your gear stolen though. Sorry to hear about that if I had not said something already.

Good luck with the build.

Thanks, This time around I'll do a build log...it will be lots of pics b/c everything will be done at one time. I had to redo my Big 3 yesterday b/c the theives cut all my 1/0ga, whick cause my 140a main battery fuse to blow. Of course its a dealer part, and my local dealer didn't have them in stock. I actually got a 120a fuse from Autozone that has been working...my car died when I went to see if Autozone had the fuse. I'm gonna be adding some more deadener, and will be replacing my Yellow Top (which was stolen) w/ a Stinger SPV70 for the trunk batt.

I think I'm gonna tune the SE's to 30hz, and the Tumult will probably be 28hz. I really miss my '05 XXX, but TeamPSI from ca.com said that I would be REALLY happy w/ the pair of SE's...especially since they're the '05 models

You should be very happy. The only reason I would never recommend them is I got to sit for dinner with one of the old partners before they split and he was the biggest douche to me. The Maxxonics people were pretty cool, vey inviting and conversational. I vowed to never do business with RE ever again from that point on. The SE's are a great performer in their line up.

IMO, RE & US Amps really screwed themselves when they sold-out. I haven't tried any RE products since then, but the prices are ridiculous. US Amps are nothing like they used to be, although the higher-end amps are nice (I had a MD3D), but nothing like the Old School stuff (I'm a sucker for o/s gear). I just got off the phone w/ Don...so my 8" X-Lines are on the way .

Them selling out doesn't bother me. I can't blame them for trying to maximizing profits. I just take issue with the people who I met that were representatives.

i dont know how don does it...but i'm running into so much crap trying to fit these 8s in the doors

first i tried to use two baffles eliminating the need to trim the sheet metal for proper basket clearance. it ended up being too tall and the bottom of the door panel wouldn't go anywhere close to snapping in properly. so, i used only one baffle, and it still hits the map pocket area of the door panel.

back to the drawing board...
