Still need to seal off front and rear though.

If your having that many problems with resonance, *try cutting 225 and 250 a bit. Tends to work well, but without actually hearing your car its hard to tell..

you're more than welcome to hear my car.

Chris, i'll get you those better pics soon...and perhaps Don will have better advice for me as well after seeing the setup with more detailed pics.

**rant** so the gf told me her car was making a wierd bumping sound when she's driving...but it's very faint and noticable when she's braking. so i said i'll bring it into our shop to have it looked at this week when we're both free from work/classes. then today, she said the sound got louder and she felt like the car was shaking. so, there i am pretty darn concerned, took her car while she's in class to have it looked at. yup, the sound is definately loud...sounded like a suspension piece was giving out and the bumping noise increased during turns. i drove her car to our shop which is about 10 minutes away from campus near downtown, jacked the car up...and did quick inspection of her tires.

guess what i found?

her rear driver side tire was f*cking held on with only one lug nut! three of them were VERY loose...i mean i could rotate the lug nuts with my fingers, and one just completely snapped away from the stud. WTF?! that damn wheel could have come off any minute! that damn bumping sound was the f*cking rim moving back and of forth. the last place that messed with her wheels was when she had her tires done at discount tire. i'm going to have one nice f*cking talk with that manager tomorrow. i don't even want to know what could have happen if that wheel came off when my gf is on the freeway...and considering her car is rwd...it won't be pretty.

so we replaced the broken stud and tightened all the lugs back to spec...and the noise was gone. f*ck! **end rant**

yeah no kidding. the three other wheels were fine, just that back tire. i guess they forgot to torque it back to spec once they lowered the car.

good thing i brought it in to get it checked.

and to keep this somewhat audio related, her OEM head unit is dying. time for a replacement!

Anyone have anyone have any tweeter installation ideas for a 4th gen A-pillars (that doesn't require fiberglassing...unless someone wants to get paid to do some ) I've got the "fuzzy" a-pillars tho, and really don't want to lose them. All of my other components have been mounted at the shop...other than my horns. I've got them out and would like to keep my factory grills in place if possible. I can get some pics tomorrow, that is if you guys wanna give me some ideas...

The 4th gen pillers that wer covered in the same stuff as the headliner...kinda suede-ish. The most of the 4th gens I've seen have the plastic ones.

12 credits plus circuit city ~20hrs/wk here

BUT a good story cuz I'm bored: (Gordon you heard this via AIM so disregard)

My new cc car audio sales supervisor claims that 4 yrs ago he worked at a couple mom and pops doing higher end custom work. His name is Chris.
Me: Have you heard of Arc and Dyn
Chris: Yeah
Me: Thats what I'm running
Chris: Im a JL fan
Me: That sucks, Im sorry
Chris: [laughing]
Me: Show me JL's 3-way 8-inch component set
Chris: yeah.....silence

/story

My car isn't totally finished, everything is done except side panels to hide the little bit of exposed wiring/dynamat, but I guess I should get around to posting some pics sometime soon. Not now though.

I see they are their own buildhouse. I just saw some very similar drivers elsewhere.

And for the record, going back to the Type-Aggghhrrrrr's has sucked. Ear fatigue FTG.

ALOT of companies 'look' similar since a large majority try to replicate. True story, non fictional - really.

No. I had an unexplained issue, so everything came out. The type-r's are the 6.75" components. I have no sub stage right now. I have some other issues to smooth out, then they will be back.

On a side note, I offered my Q's to Orugullo (sp) on here as he needed some subs. He said he would get them when he is able. He has a lot going on with his car right now. I was going to use the proceeds to help fund a pair of Havocs. I got the go ahead as soon as these are gone. Sonically the Havocs are different and I wanted to try something else out. Read: another one of Scott's designs. Many people compare the two and I wanted to weigh in on the issue with what experience I have. I can always go back to the Q's if I don't like them.

Side note. I am going to fire the next box into the cabin. The trunk will be 100% sealed off from the cabin. I haven't decided if I want to port through the rear deck of just set the box back a bit 10"s or so and build it with the port on the same face. Still running some #'s to get that settled.

Second is power. The guy I was borrowing the SS PCA2000D from is geting a new car in a couple of months. He has 2 of them, but will be using both. Most likely on a pair of BL 15"s. But now I need to find some cheap power. I was considering the Sundown 1500D and 3000D. There will also be a couple more batteries this time to help with the load if I go with the bigger of the two.

The doors need to be finished when that all gets sorted out too.

Uggh.

The real question is... can I afford that solution? And will it fit into my install.
