I can't cut any more of the door panel to make it fit on the top side because of the curve in the door and the map pocket, I do have some room on the bottom though.

I think the only thing I can do at this point is make a baffle for the inside of the sheet metal. Maybe coat it with resin as well to keep it from getting damaged. I can't think of any other way to adress the issue without getting more sheet metal welded in. Not going to do that though.

Any suggestions? And no, I won't post pics of the door till the grill is made.

JB weld and an angle grinder.

So a sub isn't a speaker. Same principles at work.

Why the hostility?

And where are the pics of the re-build?

A piece of MDF is under $30. Carpet and/or paint will run you maybe and extra $10-$15. You don't need my help for that.

I need a suggestion on a good disc/belt sander. It doesn't need both. But the disc needs to be 12" or the belt needs to be 8". I have about $200 to spend. I don't want to spend time making a fibreglass baffle as I have zero experience in this area. I also have no pnumatic/air sanders to smooth the resin/bondo. I think the cheapest alternative for me is to buy a sander and bevel the top ring on the baffles. I have a nice Miter saw but the baffle won't fit under the blade.

So I am trying to come up with remedies.

I am sure you can get top dollar for those JL's and still have money left over after buying a single uber sub. Like a Havoc 15" or even Parag's Q 15", which would murder the JL's anyway.

I don't have a job either. I sold all my old equipment. Thus paying for the AA mids and the Havoc's. No money out of pocket FTW!

I'd want 2 or 3 subs again

Jus b/c or is there a reason? You will need less power, have less weight, and be louder. Don't get me wrong, I love milti-sub set-ups. You could do 2 Havoc's then.

OK. So do a pair of 12's. I am willing to bet you could find someone to buy your current gear and you could make the switch. Easily.

I know of one guy that has told me that if I got rid of my setup, he'd want it

I wonder how much I could sell it for....

Fill it in with JB weld, then use an angle grinder to get off the excess to make it smooth.

2nd option for the welder was to weld in more metal.

Depends on the buyer. People value things differently based upon the amount of value they see. If someone told me they wanted to buy my sytem, I would ask a budget. and if it was more than I paid, it would be gone. New equipment would be on its way.

Call the person and see what he thinks.

Ahha. I have never used JB weld. I think I am going to try a piece of wood first and see how that work out, if not, I may talk to someone that welds.
