Finally built a new baffle for my speakers
#1
Finally got rid of the cheap plastic speaker mounts in the front doors, and made 2 baffles out of 1\2" mdf and mounted them to the door panels and the woofers to them. Made a world of difference. I can't believe how different it is. I can play at full volume on most cd's with NO audible distortion. Bass is unreal. If you haven't done it yet, think about it. It's well woth it. Also, buy a Rotozip! that hand tool they advertise on tv. Got one from Home Depot. That thing is cool as hell.

I've had my rotozip a couple months. My 3/4" MDF is mounted to fiberglass(actually kevlar and carbon fiber) and angled up a few degrees. I still need to finish sealing the door completely. I want to build a fiberglass piece to cover the large hole in the rear section of door. And build it so that that is secured to the door frame with screws so that it could be removed if I ever decided I wanted to get into the door again. That will take some time with resin, kevlar and a heat gun to complete.
