I have been reading the how2 guide at maximadriver.com on installing an amp and it mentioned these cables in it but I have no idea what the are. So what are the RCA cables used for?

RCA cables are the cables used to connect the HU to the amp. Imagine the cables you use to connect a cd player to your home stereo, and make it about 16 to 20 feet long, and thats the cable you use. Here is the list of cables used to install an amp.

Power cable. Between 20 and 25ft of red cable depending on the size of the amp your installing,( in your case I'd use 4 gauge)
Ground cable. 6 ft or less of black cable the same gauge as the power wire you use to ground the amp.

Remote turn on. 16 to 20 ft. of 18 gauge wire used to connect to the amp and the HU. The HU sends a 12 volt signal to the amp, letting it know to turn on.

RCA cable. A cable pair the Head Unit uses to send the signals to the amp. This is what the ends look like.

Speaker wire. The wire used to send the signal from the amp to the speakers.

How would u run the cables the HU without them showing?

You run them under the carpeting. The plastic door sills pop up, and you run the cables along the edge under the carpeting. I think the How2 explains it.....

Yeah I understand running them under the carpet but how do i get them to the back of the HU is there a way to push them in from behind the dash?

Well, I just noticed that you have the Bose in another post, so that changes how you can hook up an amp and subs COMPLETELY. I would do a search on the Bose and adding a sub if I were you, to understand better how to do it. A line converter is needed to convert the signal from the Bose level to a level that the amp can handle. They're around $50. The good news is I dont think you would need to remove the radio, bad news is, I dont know if you can keep the rear speakers or not. I havent done any installs with the Bose myself, but quite a few others on here have.
