Would a system containing 2 10" Audiobahn Aluminum subs and an MTX Thunder81000D amp require me to change my battery to something like the optima battery or a strike cap or would it be ok without either? BTW the subs can handle 800W apiece and the amp puts out 1500W at 2ohms

 

No, changing the battery makes absolutly NO difference while the car is running. The Optima Yellow top,(not the red) is good only if you're going to be running the stereo with the car off for long periods of time. I would suggest using a cap. www.partsexpress.com has them for a decent price. Brands when it comes to caps, don't really matter that much. They also have everything else you would need to install an amp, and MUCH cheaper than your local stereo shop.
