how loud is your system?
#1
this is a thread for those of you who have had their sytems tested and know the decibels they produced and what components make up your system. (ok that sentence sucked) but any way since i started it i guess ill post mine first:
Sony eXplode CDX7000X head unit
Sony eXplode 6.5's 3 ways all around
Directed 250D amp
2 Audiobahn AWC12's
148.6 db as tested at Sound Drag Nat's In Atlanta 2001 with a Lanzar Vibe 240 amp (for sale if interested)
150.3 db as tested at the same event with Directed 250D
Well thats the benchmark, i'll be surprised if someone beats that, so surprise me ( no bull sh*t numbers please)

Impressive!
I think Chad hit about 143 in his 4th gen with a pair of Alumapro 12s.. XTant amps I think.
My personal best was only 134.8dB at IASCA finals last year... using 3JL audio 10w6s in a 2.7cu ft sealed box powered by a PPI A600.2 amp in 4ohm mono.(600 watts)
the system in the new max should easily kill that one though. going to 4 Focal 12s powered by a PPI A1200.2. 1200w mono
for the restofthe system, I've got a Premier DEX-P1R running Focal 165KS 6.5" components. PPI A404.2 at 200x2 running the mids, and a PPI A200.2 at 50x2 running the tweets.
it's all old school stuff (except the subs), but it's going to kick some *** if I ever get around to installing it all.

I never tested my system but a friend of mine who has a CRX and only 2 10's powered by an Alpine V12 amp( not sure how many watts)...and he hit 142dB with only the two subs.
I thought that was pretty impresive...I am going to test my system in about 2 weeks.

damn
i dunno how loud mine is.. but i know its way louder than i need. In fact I'm going to make myself deaf if I'm not careful.
I almost collided with a police car a few days ago, I was entering an intersection and so was he, with his lights & siren on, I didn't hear him. Luckily he saw me and slowed down.. after a second I saw him and let him go .. but damn
