Today, I called the people from Valentine One and asked them if I mount the radar detector under the window a little, somewhere in the dash if performance would be altered... the woman told me how the laser finders wont work etc, etc and she thought it was a bad idea and that i should put it on the windshield.. "maybe hidden on top somewhere up there on the windshield"... either way, i really don't want it visible, does anyone have any ideas or things that they've done/seen and/or of different radar detectors that work as well if not better... although i hear valentine one is the best out there. thanks a lot

Actually, the Escort Passport is considered the best one out there now...according to two different radar reviews.

As far as what you would like to do, I would suggest taking the thing apart and mounting the sensor by your front license plate and wiring it back to the main consule, which can be anywhere. Then you can wire the display anywhere you think would be cool. This is what I was thinking about doing, but just don't have the time right now.
