Ok.

I had the new audio system installed blah blah. The old Bose amp in my trunk, obviously not in use.

It has a like 20-pin plug that plugs into the amp.

I unplugged that plug from the old amp .. Everything in the new system worked fine for a week or more, with the plug totally disconnected and loose in the trunk.

Then I *cut the wires* that led to that old plug (to send the amp and plug to Ethan.) Now my NEW stereo system doesn't power up.

I'm assuming they must have used the wires there for a power lead or something.. perhaps the plug itself was used as a splice or connector?

Anyway I am headed out there now with a voltmeter to see how much damage I did, etc. what I did wrong.

Any ideas are appreciated in case I am not successful in my mission. I am not looking forward to going back to the audio shop who did my install and showing them shamefully how I took a razor blade to their install.

I am an idiot

I fixed the problem. Basically in a nutshell it was a fuse. I checked the wrong fuse initially when I was trying to diagnose the problem.

I freaking rewired the entire plug, too, before realizing it was unnecessary. I also gave my driver's side rear door a nice little gouge when I was taking the back seat out.

The Audio fuse in the engine compartment was blown, I must have blown it when hacking through the wires like a buffoon.
