5th Gen SE w/ non-Bose system.

I installed an amplifier last night in a mad rush. I didn't wire the remote turn on wire from the amp to the deck. Instead, I rigged up a flip switch, and connected it to the positve terminal on the battery.

Is this ok? I know if i don't switch it off when i leave the car, the amp will probably eat the battery. But other than that should it be alright?

i know of ppl who've done it but i dont' recomend it.. some ppl i know hook their subwoofer remote wire to a switch, then to the deck. so they can turn the bass on n off, because they dont' have a bass ****

 

i know of some peopl who wired a switch to the remote wire and it came out fine.

 

all the remote wire does is send 12v of electricty to turn it on anyways, so you're doing the same thing... Since the wire is prolly really small you won't be sending too much power to the amp either.
