Today I bought Infinity Kappa 6.5" 2way speakers (rated at 70watts power handling each) and I wanted to hook them up to my Rockford Fosgate 2.9x 275watt 2-channel amplifier. This amplifier is already hooked up to a JL 12W0 sub and after I hooked up the speakers, there was no sound from the sub. To get the speakers to work I had to change the xcard in the amp.

Can anyone help me out with some diagrams or instructions on what to do to make my sub work with the new speakers? I don't know much about car audio, but I was looking through my amps owners manual and they show diagrams that show how to hook up a sub and a pair of speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nathan

You are talking about a mixed-mono wiring configuration. Doesn't the manual show how to wire it? You run the speakers in stereo and the sub bridged at the same time. You need to have a passive xover network, though.

Micah95GLE, thanks for the help. Yes, the manual shows diagrams on how to do it but I'm still not sure what to do. Can you explain what a passive xover network is and how I go about doing it? Thanks,

Nathan
