Need sub advise

I currently have 2x10" MTX's in my trunk run by 500watt amp (Y2K GXE). This box is so huge and heavy, I wont be able to get my spare out if needed. Those MTX's are discontinued series, like few yrs old, so they do not deliver top-notch bass. Thinking about getting 1x15" sub instead, but my friend (95 GLE 1x12") says the 15" sub wont fit in the trunk. His 12" pounds better then my 2x10"....If I sell my box, could I get smthg more efficient (weight, space, sound) for under $150?

Do you have a Tweeter store near you?

yes I have a Tweeter store less than a mile from my place. re: are JL's that good? Better than MTX? MTX got a new series silver cone, I heard it on the display, whoa. Also, Rockford Fosgate, Sony Explode series...do you think 15" box will fit 5th gen trunk?

I can write up a deal for you here...you can take that invoice and pick up your gear at that store. JL's do sound better than MTX. The JL amps, which I have sound better than MTX...If you want a 15" say bye-bye to your trunk space...

No problem.
When you go into a Tweeter store tell them you know someone that works at Tweeter in California...just to give them heads up. PM me with EXACT makes and models of items you want and I will reply back with Maxima.org prices. If you want to save trunk space and save weight dont go with a 15" sub. They take up way too much space. I have 2 JL 10W3 in a small downfire enclosure and the box is small ran through a JL 250/1...I wish I had pics to show you but I don't, sorry

I can take care of you on price but on labor I can't, let me know what you find.
