Kappa VS Kappa Perfect

For not too much longer I am able to get a crazy deal on infinity car audio. I was thinking about getting the kappa or the kappa perfect 6.1's and the kappa perfect sub and was wondering if the perfects are that much better than the regular kappas. I'm really leaning towards the perfect right now, crutchfield rated them the best among the competition in their price range. Anybody have these speakers or have listened to them?

Yep. Listened to plenty of sets of all of em back when we had their accomodations through Circuit City and all the employees bought em and had me install em.

Nope, theyre worse. Those aluminum tweeters just about make my ears bleed. I had plenty of sets of Reference's that I installed on customers vehicles that sounded much better than the Kappas/Perfects, simply because of their silk tweeter.

The Perfect sub is a pretty decent performer, especially for the price Im assuming you're getting. So use your discount on the amps and subs if you must, and go with some SLC's up front. Your ears will thank you later.

But hey, thats just my humble opinion. Knowing the ways of people on forums, you'll probably get whatever you want anyway

Thanks for the info!!! Yes I'm getting these off of accomodations an program also. So you believe the aluminum tweeter is too harsh? Does it sound harsh with only certain types of music or all types. Oh and what if they were wired to the -3db part of the crossover, will that cut down on the harshness or overall loudness of the speaker?

What 4 channel amp do you reccomend for it? I'm looking to get as close to the RMS rating as possible. I'm gonna look around some stores to see if I can take a listen to them since we only carry the refrence series in the store.

Even at -3 they are very bright and painful to the ears. I don't know why a company would manufacture such garbage.

Damn I don't know what to think now. I've heard soooooooooo many good reviews on these and the bad ones complained about the tweeters being way to bright also. I'm just going to have to listen to them, cause the price I can get these for is sick!!!

i bought the kappas components for my car last week. i figured 90wrms is more than enough for each speaker. i went with the kicker zx700.5 5 channel amp. i still don't know what sub im going to get as i am still researching that.

the amp is pushing out 85w x 4 and 420w on the sub channel. thats more than enough for me personally.
