Connecting iPod to 5.0Gen BOSE HU

I searched all the posts currently listed. I know there used to be a post about how to add a connection for an iPod to a 5thGen BOSE HU, but I couldn't find it.

I'll be purchasing an iPod in the near future and finally bringing myself into the modern music age. I don't have a budget to completely redo my entire sound system, and I know that cassette adapters and FM modulators aren't very good.

Does anyone still have the DIY info on how to add in an aux connection to the 5.0Gen BOSE HU?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the link. I didn't see a Nissan spec version of that one. I'd be interested to know which unit was purchased.

I'm still looking for the DIY for the hook-up. If anyone has it saved anywhere I would really appreciate it.

I have seen units like the one Padawaknight is talking about but from want I have researched it only works with units that have the external output on back of the HU (used by the CD Changer). If you have the internal 6-disc CD Changer (like me) you do not have that connection in the back, so this will not work. Please post if I'm wrong on this. Because I would love to have a better iPod connection then the cassette adapter.

/\/\ Not sure what you mean by "external output"

The link for the USAspec is:
http://www.usaspec.com/ipod.html like mentioned above, about halfway down the page you see:
Nissan 1999-2006
Shipping

Here is the detailed application guide:
http://www.usaspec.com/app_guide_2007.pdf

It works on any nissan with an open CD changer port, meaning if you have an external CD changer then you'll lose the ability to use it with this unit. AFAIK, guys with 5.5 gen 6-disc in dash have this port open, so it's not a concern. I haven't confirmed this, but you can take your bose out and look at the back of it.

Does anyone know of a way to get the title to appear on the factory Bose display?

Thanks,
Chris

You should be able to get a adapter that plugs into the CD changer slot (check on crutchfield for research)
