Amp installation

I just got an amp and sub for my car ('90 Maxima SE) and everything is wired except for the "switch" wire. Every site i keep going to tells me the same thing. "Plug it into the elec. antenna." But in my stereo, there is no way to install it into the elec antenna thing. Also, one of the vids said that i might need to but a diff amp install kit fitted for my car, if that is true tell me plz. If someone could just help me w installing the "switch" wire, it would be much appreciated.

How is there no way to attach it to the antenna? It doesn't need to go into the back of HU, splicing it with the wire going to the power antenna is fine. If not you need a wire thats only hot when the car is on, I don't know what a good candidate for that would be. You should really use the power antenna wire though.

you can use any power source that powers on with the car. I have used fuses before. Currently use my stock amp in the rear.

Could you explain how there is no way to attach it to the power antenna lead? I'm just not sure how that is possible. Pretty much every after market head unit has a power antenna lead, and many also have an amp turn on lead as well, and the stock head unit has an antenna connection as well.

just do it ghetto and run it to the fuse panel on the driver side. Use a test light to find a fuse that is only on when the ignition is turned and youll be fine. Its what i did in my 6th gen for my amp.
