An odd phenomenon... any ideas?

As some of you may recall, i've had issues with my Basslink where it eventually just stopped working and i stopped caring.

I left it plugged in but for the longest time it hasn't pumped out anything. But lo and behold, the weather gets cool and it starts working.

The weather warmed up on Sunday and it stopped working again.

Now that the temp dropped back below 60, it's working again!

What is up? Any ideas?

It could be the sub, it could also be the HU - which has gone haywire a couple times before. (Sound coming out of only one side).

Since no one is biting I'll start off by stating the obvious.

Temperature makes things expand and contract. You must have a connection *somewhere* that is juuust loose/tight enough to make and break connection with the temperature changes.

Start testing power sources, both at the HU and at the Basslink. Then move to remote wire, then signal.

Also it is possible that the wiring inside the basslink is loose or from the amp to the sub etc.

It could be so many things, until you check everything you may not know.

Thanks for the responses guys, i'll just have to retrace my steps again - last time i did it, i couldn't find anything wrong with the wiring. If i still don't find anything wrong, i'll bite the bullet and try changing out the HU... that's the only other thing i haven't tried swapping out.

Before you change the HU, open up the bass link and have a look inside.

I guess that's still an option, although i've already tried swapping that out too, to no effect.

Really? Could be bad RCA's. ALso the remote wire could be loose/disconnected at the HU. Bad ground? Poor power connection? Partially blown fuse at the battery?
