Apparently congress wants to limit what the end user can do to their cars service wise. In other words ... wanna do your own tune up? Congress says NO you cant.

this would have been a great question to put on the con law exam I had last night. Logically it makes no sense, but in theory they can do this...but I doubt this will pass muster. Congress is a joke...I'd love to see the adjudicatory record on this subject to show why they felt they needed to do this.

actually, i think it's for state governments to start taking action against aftermarket manufacturers that purposely sell/design/manufacture products that break state laws.

i.e. new york has laws against car audio over xdb. if you make speakers louder than that and sell them in ny, you can have a fine against your ***.
