98 GXE Speaker Replacement

Can I drop (4) 6 1/2" aftermarket speakers in the factory locations? It is a non Bose System with a Panasonic unit. No amp either. I need to know if the rear are round or rectangular. Also, Infinity, Sony XPLOD or ???? speakers. Thanks for your help!!

Sony is junk, infinity require a 4 channel amp to sound good. Pioneer would be your best bet for a replacement set. The 1998 gxe 6 3/4" speakers. The 6 1/2 should fit just fine.

I have just installed an alpine 9886 head unit in my 98 Maxima GXE, and the sound is not noticably better than factory speakers. Is this a built in 4 channel amp?

There is a sale on Infinity 6022i speakers at Future Shop, but they tell me front speakers are 4.5" not 6.5". I think that's BS.
