yea so Ive screwed up somehow...2k2 bose issues

okay...heres the deal...

I had the ever common defective bose HU and replaced it about 6 months ago with a Sony HU, everything worked great, haven't had a single problem out it at all.

So, for Christmas I got some subs/amp and decided to install them seeing how I already had the aftermarket HU and it would hook up easily.

So I wired everything up, turned and it all on, and got the bass I am supposed to get out of the new subs but now am not getting ANYTHING out of my existing speakers. So naturally I unhooked my amp/subs and still have the same problem. I have done some diagnostics and found that the issue is not in the HU because I took a spare tweeter I had and hooked it up directly out of the HU and got great signal.

My question is does anyone know what may have caused my existing speakers to stop? Obviously there is a bose amp issue, is there a fuse that could have blown...maybe the amp just crapped out...I just cannot figure out what would have caused the issue. Is there a solution to screw the bose system all together and bypass the amp?

Any help would be awesome...needless to say Ive spent 6 hours this evening and am way worse of than I started. Thanks.

Check all the audio fuses for one thing....

if i recall correctly theres a few fatter wires going into the bose amp, which are power and ground. Check that.

But more importantly....

How did you hook everything up?

How was the bose amp integrated/bypassed into your sony system?

Did you touch your bose amp during your isntall process?

Thanks for the reply!

I have checked every fuse I know of...both compartments underneath the hood and the one underneath the steering column. Any other place there may be one?

As for the install of the Sony HU...I got a install harness and wired it accordingly as well as the signal strength adapter for the bose amp, everthing worked great as is was supposed to.

Now for the subs, basic install, 12v wire fused direct from battery, remote and rca wires from HU, and then ground into a random bolt in the trunk floor.

I had everything working prior to hooking up the remote wire, as soon as I turned it on to check I lost everything but the new subs. I did not even come close to the bose amp during install.

Thanks for your insight...Im pissed about all this, i just want the dang thing to work!
