Budget setup ideas

i've been looking to get a single sub setup for the maxima. But mainly on a low budget, beginner setup. Never had a sub in the car. Listen to a lot of rap/hip-hop stuff. The local crowd isn't exactly helpful to me. They just tend to steer me into w/e they have on sale at the moment, like some Rockford audio stuff.

Realistically i have $500 to spend. But after a sub box, cables and all the little things i might need i'll end up with $300 roughly for a single sub and amp. Been shopping and reading online and i came across this $300 combo.

I haven't found too many reviews on the diyma but the few i read seemed to of loved it.

As of this its between this and or a kick cvx12/alpine type R 1242 and a amp of some sort.

The DIYMA sub is an excellent choice. Will get fairly loud, but sound excellent doing it. Although you will have to contact Nguyen (npdang) on there to confirm he still has a few...

i've read some mixed reviews about the diyma 12 since i was considering it before i picked up my hertz. one review also note how soft the aluminum cone really is and got dinged up pretty well during the audition.

oh wow, i was going to send you to http://www.adireaudio.com/ to find a nice 15 for cheap but ****... I cant believe AA is gone... I Shoulda held onto my tempest 15s... damn it lol,

The Diyma Reference 12" sub reminds me of a GE Lab12 http://www.usspeaker.com/lab12-1.htm

Ive ran 2 GE lab 12s off my JBL BPX1100 and they sounded Amazing. I actually just sold them both (saving for a new setup). You cant go wrong with the diyma ref 12 or the ge lab12 for the Quality/Price. As for amps youd have around $150.00 left which is pushing it... for a single sub Id go with something decent, If you want cheap cheap go with SPL or basically any Audiobahn/Poweracustik (all the same ****) theyre cheap. But remember you get what you pay for when it comes to Amps. Speakers are a different market.
