? from newbie for MaximaDave

I have a 94 GXE and am looking into getting the Kenwoood MP3 player, model KDC-MP8017... carmedia1.com has one for 259.00. Is this a good deal? It will be replacing the stock Bose headunit, so where would I be able to get this "adapter" that people speak of that bypasses the stock Bose amps? Is it better to just replace all the speakers? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That is $100.00 less than what Tweeter normally sells them for. If you want to buy it through them just be aware about their warranty issues. They are not authorized for Kenwood. Just to be on the safe side call Kenwood at 1-800-KENWOOD and ask them about Car Media to see what you can do if something goes wrong with the unit. Can it be fixed with no out of pocket expense, and so on. If you feel comfortable about the purchase than get it.

Circuit City or Best Buy may carry it I don't know. I carry brand called Soundgate that allows you to interface an aftermarket deck through your Bose system but it retails for $100.00. There are other mfg's out there that do make them for less.

I got mine from the local Best Buy, so yours probably has it.

well, i ended up finding the mp3 player at a local kenwood factory outlet for 250, w/ a 90 day warranty along w/ the adapter... and not only does this headunit sound badass, it looks awesome and adds color to the otherwise drab appearance of the interior. werd.
