Headunit just shut off - is it dead?

Today in the morning i started the car, and the HU was set to CD, and after 5 seconds i hit the button to switch to radio, and the HU blinked with all its lights, and shut off. It is an older kenwood unit. Before i tear into the center console, i want to know some things:
Do HU's have a fuse in the back, it just blew?
Any other fuse?
Did the HU just die and I need a new one?

Thank You in advance!

check the fuse on the hu (rear) and the fuse panel in your car. If its not a fuse, check all the power connections on the harness. If all else fails try a direct power source to the hu. If that doesnt work its trash. GL

Wow, couldn't have said it better myself. If you have a multimeter, it will help as well.
