My factory stereo was the tape deck and the LCD had gone out. So basically I listened to two preset stations...lol.
I ordered a Kenwood KDC-135 receiver and KDC-1660s speaker set for $99 from Crutchfield and added a set of KDC-C1739ie's for $69. So total spent was around $170 with free shipping, wiring harnesses, antenna adapter, etc.
The install for the receiver was easy...the door speakers not so much, the rear deck was a PITA.
Total time spent was 6 hours...course I'd never done this before either.
Decent sound for a cheap system and definitely worthwhile for me to get "something"!

NEW STEREO INSTALLED
OLD SPEAKERS VS. NEW...NOTE THE OLD SPEAKERS RIPPED/SHREDDED

Nice job, i just did all that last week for my first time. Its alot easier than some people made it out to be(specifically the guys at Best Buy who just wanted to sell me an install). Only thing i would have recommended is sound dampening since you had the panels and rear deck off anyway. Believe me it made a difference. Car now feels like a luxury car, nice door thump and no road noise, i can barely hear my magnaflow exhaust.
